A Different Kind of Court Date

A little court rebellion looks good on the Air Jordan 7. Releasing Wednesday, September 9, at Overload, “Tennis Day” brings the energy of Nike’s early-’90s Challenge Court era to one of Jordan Brand’s most recognizable silhouettes.

That era of tennis wasn’t exactly quiet. Andre Agassi and Nike’s Air Tech Challenge line brought bright colors, expressive outfits and a different attitude to the court. The Air Jordan 7 “Tennis Day” taps into that same spirit, trading traditional basketball colors for a combination with plenty of personality.

A soft Phantom upper gives the neon yellow and Pink Blast accents room to stand out, while darker details bring contrast to the design. The AJ7’s angular panels and distinctive shape make a natural match for the tennis-inspired palette.

Real and synthetic leather combine with airy textiles across the upper, while full-length Nike Air cushioning delivers comfort underfoot. The result connects two different sides of Nike’s sporting history through a shared willingness to do things a little differently.

It’s a fresh direction for the AJ7, with enough early-’90s attitude to feel right at home.
