The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” is back after more than a decade in the vault.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, Michael Jordan’s eighth signature shoe originally debuted during the 1992–93 season—the final chapter of MJ’s first championship three-peat. With its crossover straps, sculpted paneling and bold detailing, the Air Jordan 8 remains one of the most distinctive silhouettes in the Jordan archive.

The “Chrome” colorway didn’t arrive until 2003, but its restrained approach quickly earned it cult status. Instead of the brighter colors associated with the original releases, the design pairs a premium black upper with Light Graphite detailing and metallic chrome accents.

Chrome-finished strap hardware catches the light against the tonal construction, while the signature chenille Jumpman tongue patch adds a hit of texture and color. The AJ8’s crossover midfoot straps and stretchy inner sleeve provide a secure fit, with Nike Air cushioning in the heel and forefoot delivering the comfort of the original.

Previously retroed in 2015, the “Chrome” has been on ice ever since. Eleven years later, one of the most sought-after non-original Air Jordan 8 colorways is ready to return.
