When Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 13 in 1998, he looked to one of nature's most elusive predators for inspiration. Every detail of the silhouette was influenced by the agility and instincts of a black panther, from the paw-inspired outsole to the iconic holographic "cat's eye" near the heel. More than just a performance shoe, the Air Jordan 13 became one of the most thoughtfully designed sneakers in Jordan Brand history.
Released during Michael Jordan's final championship season with the Chicago Bulls, the "Flint" colourway immediately stood apart from the traditional Bulls-inspired palette. Instead of red and black, it relied on a sophisticated combination of navy, flint grey, white, and University Blue, proving that an Air Jordan could become an icon through premium materials and timeless design alone. Alongside classics like the Air Jordan 3 "True Blue" and Air Jordan 12 "Obsidian," the Flint 13 remains one of the most celebrated original non-Bulls colourways ever created.
The 2026 retro marks the fifth release of the Air Jordan 13 "Flint" and features an updated shape designed to more closely match the original 1998 pair. Navy reflective mesh panels create the shoe's signature look, catching the light with every step, while premium flint grey suede wraps the mudguard and heel. White leather on the toe box keeps the upper clean, with subtle University Blue Jumpman branding providing the perfect finishing touch.
